In just six words, it captures everything that evidence-based medicine should stand for - and everything that’s gone wrong in how health information reaches pregnant women today. From wellness influencers warning against “toxic” ultrasounds to natural birth advocates dismissing fetal monitoring as unnecessary intervention, pregnant women are bombarded with confident-sounding advice that prioritizes ideology over evidence. The “natural pregnancy” industry has learned that fear of modern medicine sells, and that “trusting your body” sounds more empowering than trusting data. But feelings aren’t facts, and a birth plan isn’t a medical degree. Here are the facts - not fads - that every pregnant woman deserves to hear.
