FAQs
Most Important FAQs for Obstetrical Intelligence
I am not pregnant and want to receive newsletters only for women’s health and menopause. How do I choose to receive emails from Obstetric Intelligence only from some sections but not others?
Great question. ObGyn Intelligence has presently 10 sections. You can choose exactly which ones send emails (“notifications”) to your inbox. Here are step-by-step instructions how to receive email notifications only from some but not other sections.
a. To adjust your preferences, log in to the website and click your profile icon in the top right corner.
b. Select Manage Subscription, choose “ObGyn Intelligence”, then “Manage your subscription”.
c. Scroll down to the Notifications list (see image below), and simply toggle off the switch next to any section you prefer to read on the website rather than receiving via email.
Here is the list of sections which you can choose from:
1. Can you answer my specific medical question or review my symptoms? No, this content is educational only and we cannot provide individual medical advice or consultations through this platform. Always consult your healthcare provider for personal medical concerns. In an emergency, please call 911 or go immediately to a hospital.
2. How often do you publish new content? I publish 3-4 times a week on average with additional posts for timely topics or breaking research. Subscribers receive email notifications for each new post.
3. What topics do you cover? I focus on evidence-based women's health education including pregnancy, gynecologic conditions, procedures, recent research, ethical issues, and myth-busting common misconceptions. I do not cover alternative medicine or unproven treatments.
4. What are your medical credentials? I am a board-certified ObGyn, Maternal-Fetal Medicince specialist, and Professor at of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with over 50 years of clinical experience and active medical licensure in New York. My full CV is available on my institutional website.
5. Is this content reviewed or approved by medical organizations? This is my independent educational content based on current evidence and guidelines, not officially endorsed by any medical organization. I follow established clinical guidelines.
6. Can I suggest topics for future posts? Yes, I welcome topic suggestions via email, though I cannot guarantee coverage of every request. I prioritize topics with broad educational value and strong evidence base.
7. What should I do if I have a medical emergency? Never rely on this content for emergency situations. Call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or contact your healthcare provider immediately for urgent medical concerns.
8. Is my subscription information private? Substack handles all subscription data according to their privacy policy. I do not share subscriber information or use it for marketing beyond this newsletter.
9. What if medical recommendations change or you make an error? Medical knowledge evolves constantly, and I post corrections when necessary. Always verify information with your healthcare provider, as individual circumstances may affect recommendations.
10. Is there a difference between free and paid content? There is presently no paid content. Free subscribers receive weekly educational posts. In the future, I plan to have paid subscribers get additional in-depth analysis, early access, and exclusive Q&A sessions focused on education, not individual advice.
